In a stunning turn of events, the Ivy League showcased its prowess once again in the NCAA Tournament as the No. 13 seed Yale Bulldogs pulled off a dramatic 78-76 upset over the No. 4 seed Auburn Tigers on Friday.

The game was a roller-coaster of emotions as Auburn held a 10-point lead with just under 10 minutes remaining. However, Yale, led by a career-high 28 points from John Poulakidas, managed to mount an impressive comeback. Poulakidas sealed the deal for the Bulldogs with a clutch three-pointer, putting them ahead for good with just over two minutes left on the clock.

Despite their collapse down the stretch, the Tigers had a final opportunity to tie the game. Tre Donaldson was fouled with six seconds remaining but missed both free throws. In a frantic finish, Yale's Sam Aletan blocked a shot by Jaylin Williams, and a last-second three-point attempt from Auburn's K.D. Johnson missed off the back of the rim, securing the victory for the Bulldogs.

Even though Auburn shot an impressive 50.9% from the field and out-rebounded Yale 35-30, they couldn't hold off the determined Ivy League team. Johni Broome led the Tigers with 24 points and 13 rebounds, but his efforts fell short.

This upset marks the second consecutive year that an Ivy League team has won a game in the NCAA Tournament. Last year, the No. 15 seed Princeton Tigers defeated the No. 2 seed Arizona Wildcats 59-55 on the tournament's opening day. This achievement by the Ivy League teams is notable as it's the first time since 1968 that they have won NCAA Tournament games in consecutive seasons.

Yale's victory over Auburn is just another chapter in the Bulldogs' story of comeback wins. In the Ivy League Tournament final, they trailed Brown by six points with only 27 seconds remaining but managed a thrilling rally to win at the buzzer.

Looking ahead, Yale will face San Diego State, the defending national runners-up, in the next round as five and a half point underdogs.
