Definition:To make a bet after a sporting event has started. Term originated from "post time" for horse racing; in years past the horse racing results from far away tracks would be reported by telephone so the possibility existed for past posting if the results were reported with any delay.
Example:Ned tried to bet past post, but the books are too sharp for that these days.
