Milwaukee Bucks Detroit Pistons

#1 Detroit Pistons d. #8 Milwaukee Bucks, 4-1

Head-to-Head Recaps

FIRST-ROUND RESULTS (HOME team in CAPS)

Detroit wins 4-1 SU (3-1-1 ATS)
OVER 4-1

5/3/06 - Game 5: DETROIT 122, Milwaukee 93 (ATS winner: Detroit -12 | OVER 193)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: Detroit was serious about clinching the series from the start, jumping out to a 39-23 lead after the first quarter and tying the franchise record for most points scored in the first quarter.  The Pistons nearly doubled that lead going into the fourth at 97-66, and the Bucks went out with their highest-scoring quarter of the game with 27 points to help the OVER.

5/1/06 - Game 4: Detroit 109, MILWAUKEE 99 (ATS winner: Detroit -6.5 | OVER 192.5)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: The Pistons used an 8-0 run to overtake the Bucks after trailing 86-85 with 5:52 remaining.  Detroit's lead shrunk to 95-93 with 2:29 left, but Chauncey Billups went 8-for-8 from the free-throw line down the stretch to reward Pistons backers with a victory.  Billups was a perfect 16-for-16 from the charity stripe for the game, and neither team scored less than 20 points in any quarter, pushing the total OVER.

4/29/06 - Game 3: MILWAUKEE 124, Detroit 104 (ATS winner: Milwaukee +6 | OVER 188)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: Surprisingly, this one wasn't even close, as the Bucks led by as many as 26 points en route to the easy victory.  They also forced Detroit to run, with game on an OVER pace from the first quarter on.  Milwaukee scored more than 30 points in three of the four quarters, totaling the most points against the Pistons all season.

4/26/06 - Game 2: DETROIT 109, Milwaukee 98 (ATS winner: push | OVER 185)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: A foul by Carlos Delfino may have saved Detroit backers some cash and hurt Bucks bettors (depending on whether they had 11 or 11 1/2), as Milwaukee's Jiri Welsch split two free throws with 12 seconds left.  With 19 seconds remaining, Welsch stole the ball from Delfino, who grabbed him in frustration instead of allowing an easy score.  The Bucks scored the last five points of the game over the last 2:17, including two free throws by T.J. Ford and a jumper by Welsch.  The game was on a high-scoring pace from the first quarter on, with the teams needing just a combined 19 points in the fourth to go OVER.

4/23/06 - Game 1: DETROIT 92, Milwaukee 74 (ATS winner: Detroit -12 | UNDER 186)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: The Pistons used two decisive runs in the second half to hold off the Bucks and cover the spread.  They outscored Milwaukee 13-2 to take a 64-45 lead midway through the third quarter and then scored 11 straight points after the Bucks had pulled within 68-64.  Detroit also held Milwaukee under 20 points in every quarter, contributing to the UNDER.

REGULAR-SEASON RESULTS

Detroit wins 3-1 SU (Milwaukee 3-1 ATS)
OVER 3-1

4/17/06 - MILWAUKEE 113, Detroit 93 (ATS winner: Mil. -6 | OVER 191)
3/31/06 - DETROIT 112, Milwaukee 105 (ATS winner: Mil. +8.5 | OVER 187)
1/25/05 - DETROIT 106, Milwaukee 102 OT (ATS winner: Mil. +10.5 | OVER 194.5)
11/26/05 - Detroit 85, MILWAUKEE 76 (ATS winner: Detroit -4 | UNDER 192)

REGULAR-SEASON SERIES RECAP: The Bucks are essentially a one-man team with Redd, and the Pistons know it.  Redd averaged nearly 34 points per game in the first three meaningful meetings this season, making almost 54 percent of his shots.  However, Detroit still won all of those games and comes into this series not caring much about covering the spread but rather just hoping to put away Milwaukee in as few games as possible.
