Hard to believe that over a month has past since we penned our first Euro 2008 article and hard to believe that another edition of the European championship is at an end.
Upstart Turkey's journey came to a halt after they were defeated by Germany 3-2 and the Russians were soundly beat 3-0 by Spain in the semifinals setting up a marquee matchup with two elite soccer nations.
In Austria-Switzerland, the Germans have been on a bit of a roller coaster ride.
After defeating Poland 2-0 to open up the tourney, Germany lost 2-1 to the Croatians; barely beat Austria 1-0 before winning back-to-back shootouts 3-2 to Portugal and Turkey.
Spain's Euro 2008 outings were bookended by blowouts of Russia (4-1 in the opener and, of course, the 3-0 shutout in the semis) and in between came wins against Sweden and Greece (both by 2-1) and a shootout victory over the Italians in the quarter-finals.
This figures to be a good championship game with both teams having the ability to score. Spain is a small favorite at 2.30 (+130).

German captain Michael Ballack, forward Miroslav Klose, midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and Spanish F Daniel Giza all have two goals each and could take the lead with a hat trick but that probably isn't likely.
It's been a great Euro tournament with quite a few goals and it looks like the championship game will be a blast with Spain and Germany.
