A winner with the Athletics/Braves Under last night here on the forum and a 2-1 Premium Day as well, giving us a 11-2 three day take on Major League Baseball. We are well into profit for the year and hopefully that will continue. I am busily rounding up some additional plays for tonight. Interleague Play was the very best I had last year. I am selling my entire card as well today at Pregame Pros with a link below. Forum Plays are now 15-6 and +9.78 Units....
GREG SHAKER'S SATURDAY MLB BONANZA
MLB: Kansas City Royals at Florida Marlins - Marlins (Bannister/Olsen) -115 | Unit Value: 2 UNITS
Game Date: 5/17/2008
Note: In my win with the Angels over the Dodgers last night, it was even more obvious than I already knew, that good lefthanded pitching stops good lefthanded hitting when facing a team that does not get a chance to see the pitcher very much. The Dodgers managed just a 2 out 2 run homer late in that game off Saunders, only 1 of 5 hits and fell 4-2. I mention that because we have at least 1/2 of that scenerio today at Florida with Olsen on the mound. At first glance, this game looked like an Under play but with the line moving our way, and the situation at hand, I will play the home team instead. KC is not a good southpaw hitting squad, nor are they a bad one. But they will face a guy that has some of the most impressive numbers in the Big's and they will do so after he threw just just 59 pitches in his last time to the mound as the Marlins won for the 7th time in his 8 starts. His velocity was down a bit after thrower 121 in his previous outing. That gives Olsen a well rested time off and he should come back with vengence for this one. While his K/BB ratios are not outstanding, he has been getting hitters out, with just 38 hits allowed over 55 innings. That is one of the better Innings/Hits ratios in either league. Home numbers for this guy have been superb. The Royals thrower is certainly a very good one but on the road this year, he has not been. In fact the last 2 times he has eaten strange food and pitched, he has allowed 12 runs on 16 hits over 8 innings of work, with 3 Dingers allowed as well. It is easy to look at this contest and discover that KC is in the midst of their longest winning streak, Florida is in the midst of their longest losing streak. Most of those games by both teams have been in Venue Friendly settings and we have the best situation today for this one. I need to be thanking someone who has brought this one down to betting territory. Overall, the Marlins strike the ball better than KC, their Pen has performed better, they are at home, and they do have the throwing advantage on the hill.
