MLB plays for Sat 5/17 - added play

Tampa Bay +114   Gotta ride the red-hot Rays in this one. They send out Garza who is really hit his stride the last 3 times out, improving each time, including 7 shutout innings facing the Yankees. Wainwright can be had by lefties and Tampa has plenty in their lineup to do the damage. The Cards are 3-10 after having lost 2 of 3, and the Rays are 8-1 after having won 4 of 5. Tampa is 8-3 in day games, look for them to stay hot against a cold Cardinal team.   LOSER

Boston -1.5 (-120) Brewers hit the road where they are to say the least, not good. Suppan has pitched quite well at times, and gotten absolutely blasted in others. I found a trend that goes way back on games when Suppan pitches as a big underdog...when Suppan's team is a dog of +175 to +250 his team is 1-20! It makes sense though the more I think about it. He is a decent pitcher who keeps his teams in games for the most part, but is sometimes simply overmatched by an opponent. Just tons of trends I could throw out here about the Brewers road woes. Milwaukee is 4-16 their first road game following at least 6 home games. The Brewers ended their last road trip by losing the last 6, and with Boston 32-8 in interleague games the last 3 years, that should definitely continue. Red Sox have won 10 straight games Dice K has started. We want this play on Suppan facing Dice-K.   $WINNER$

Cleveland -107   Carmona had incredible numbers in day games last year, 9-1 with a 2.14 ERA. Harang has been very hittable lately giving up at least 3ER and going no longer than 7 innings in any of his last 3. Cincy's 1st time seeing Carmona, they should struggle, especially considering Carmona's complete game shutout last time out.   LOSER

Philadelphia +104   AJ Burnett's last 3 starts against the Phils were disasterous, he went just 11.2 innings combined in those 3 starts and gave up 20 hits and 16 ER's! Ummm, that's a 12.34 ERA. The Phils scored 11, 12 and 13 runs in those games. The Jays, who recently lost slugger Vernon Wells to the DL have just 21 runs their last 8 games. I think the Phils will give more than enough support for Eaton today to get the win.

    Milwaukee +135 G2

I typed these in the wrong order. Philly should be above Clev. Tampa Philly and Boston are all for the same amount today ($250) and Cleveland is for 150, just so you got an idea how strong I rate each...

I don't often bet against Milwaukee, but you will notice that when I do, they lose.Sad That 1-20 stat I dug up on Soup is hard to ignore.
