    Stanley Cup Best Bet

Best Bet Penguins +135 for series.

    Game #1 Penguins +150

Should be a great series but i just feel the Pens will win it and turn into many rings for this young team. Some people compare this Pens team to the great Oilers teams, if you have ever watched hockey the Oilers teams were the best of all time. I do not even consider this Pens team in that category. But maybe if they sweep the series they will rank up there. The Wings have a very good team with some great defense. I look for the Pens offense to toy with them.

I disagree and think the Red Wings will win the series.   Penguins will win 2 games.

To quote Barry Melrose:  "Sometimes these young guys need to lose before they can learn how to win"

The Penguins will probably win 2 Cups in the next decade, but I just don't think they'll get it this time.

The way i look at game one the Pens did not score on the power play in period one. The Wings clearly the better team in game one. Actually pretty dominant.

Wings look pretty impressive to me to win the next two. The Pens need game 4 or its over in 5. Passing this game and hoping for the Pens to somehow pull out a victory.

Friend of mine hangs around a former well known NHL player. He mentioned how the rink in Pitt is smaller and has tighter corners. Said this favors the Penguins. Mentioned the Wings being a finesse/skating style, the smaller confines is not a good thing for the way they play.

RedWings win series 4-2  as predicted. (by me)

Hell of a Game 5 though!    I didn't watch most of regulation because the Penguins were up 2-1  or 3-1 (don't remember which)   then I checked back and it was at Intermission before going the First OT period.. .I was glued to the  TV for the rest of the game.

Don't worry hammer,   the birds will be back in the Finals.

    Re: Stanley Cup Best Bet

Nice call on the Wings. After game 1 when the Wings dominated i knew the Pens were in trouble. Oh well chalk it up as a loser and move ahead. As for the Birds some great odds on them to win it all. I always take a shot on them. I guess by not getting a great WR like i thought they would by trade i think they upgraded at all positions. Out of all the receivers i wanted Roy Williams, but the Lions imo were smart enough to keep him. Who knows maybe they will still make a trade for one. By the Eagles not getting a great wideout the special teams have been upgraded the most that should give them good field position.
