The Major League Baseball season continues this evening with a game between the San Francisco Giants and the Boston Red Sox. The game is scheduled for a 7:10 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv and NESN. Currently the MLB odds for the game have the Red Sox listed as a small favorite to pick up the win.

The Red Sox have won three in a row coming into this contest, something they have done twice earlier this season as well. A win here tonight would give them their longest streak of the season and they're matched up well against the Giants.

San Francisco has been out-scored by 14 runs the last 10 games while the Red Sox have out-scored opponents by 33 runs in that same time span. Obviously those stats can be tough to compare because of transitive properties, but I do like where this Red Sox offense is right now. Sure, the 17 runs scored the other day in a win over the Cubs helps inflate that number but I expect them to continue to stay hot tonight.

The Giants are throwing Erik Miller, a left handed spot starter. The Red Sox are right above league average in OPS against lefties (12th, .710) and don't exactly have wonderful numbers against them. Miller hasn't exactly been an inning-eater, though, tossing 13 so far this year in appearances coming out of the Giants pen.

I'll take the Red Sox at home with Kutter Crawford (how do you not love that name). He's been serviceable, allowing only five earned runs in his better than 33 innings worked so far. He's allowed only four runs in 16 innings at home this season.
