As some of you may have heard, the state of Washington just legalized sports betting which on the surface sounds great, but those of you familiar with the state's ultra-left politics won't be surprised that it was totally botched due to the political correctness that guides most everything that happens in the state, especially in Seattle.
Sports betting will be allowed only in tribal casinos and rumors are they may not even roll out mobile betting within those confines. There's no betting on in-state teams, and being familiar with Washington state tribal policies, I'd be shocked if the vig isn't inflated.
And the ultimate kicker is not a single penny of revenue goes to the citizens of the state; it all goes to the tribes.
Since my early sports betting days in the mid-70's, I dreamed of a day when it would be legalized where I live, but this is nothing but a frustrating tease. Maybe in my next life it will be done right in the state where I reside.
