We miss Jimmy Buckets like crazy here in Chicago......everyone from Chicago is rooting for that man......he brought basketball to life here again. Went to the United Center to go watch him play live all the time.
Funny story. I went to an NBA preseason game a few years ago. My buddy is a hedge fund Mgr and hooked me up with tickets right behind the Atlanta Hawks bench (The Bulls opponent that night). Al Horford was playing for the Hawks at the time. I walk inside and take my seat......and I'm sitting right next to MISS UNIVERSE, Amelia Vega, Al Horford's wife. (I almost fainted lol).
We were having fun "talking shit" throughout the game. Cool chick, let alone gorgeous. Jimmy Buckets ends up hitting a BUZZER BEATER that night!!! It was fun having the last words.
But even going back and thinking about that game now. Jimmy is a dog, no quit in him, constant effort, and a fierce competitor, even during PRESEASON BASKETBALL!!! He deserves this attention. So happy for him. That kid has been through a lot. From a HOMELESS KID to an NBA ALL STAR!!!
His biological mother wasn’t the most nurturing either. At only 13 years old, she had these final words for her son:
“I don’t like the look of you. You gotta go.” Imagine hearing your mom speak those words.....
