40+ years as a well regarded Capper in the Sports Betting Profession, and from a "Cappers perspective", I still to this day, don't get some the opening lines that the books put out. Regardless of the last night's outcome, Washington should not of opened as the dog at I believe, +130. Well, as we Canucks say, " THAT'S HOCKEY EH! ( For my buddy, Top Gun.)
Winnipeg Vs. New York Rangers.
The Jets are in a three way tie for top spot in the Central Div., with Colorado and Dallas, all with 91 points, it makes me dizzy trying to project the standings, anyway, I've been trying to find a way for Winnipeg to win this game, but it's tough. The Rangers are 34-24-1- with 11 OTL against the Jets. The Jets are 5-4-1 last 10 Vs. the Rangers. Winnipeg is 19-10-3 on the road, New York is 23-8-0 at home, one of the best home teams in the League, winning nine of their last. A lot of that credit has to go to netminder Igor Shesterkin. In his last twelve home games, Shesterkin has allowed two or less goals and has a record of 5-1 with a 1.17 GAA during that stretch. ( but I'm still looking for a way, lol) The last three meetings between these two clubs, Winnipeg won two.,10/14/22 Jets 4-1., 2/20/23 Jets 4-1., most recently, 10/30/23 Rangers won 3-2. New York will be without 2 of their "D" men, Lindgren and Captain, Trouba. In this match-up the Jets are the better team when playing 5 on 5. If the penalties are kept to a dull roar and we see the majority of the game played 5 on 5, then I think I found way, or talked myself into it, lol. You don't want this going to OT, if so, Jets win....
My Bet. Winnipeg on the ML and +1.5 on the PL.
Tampa Vs, Las Vegas
Some similarities between these two clubs Both are 36-31. The lightning have won four of their last five, and the Knights winning three of their last four. Tampa, 4th in the Atlantic Div., holds the first Wild card Spot in the Eastern Conference. Las Vegas is tied with the LA Kings for 3rd in the Pacific Div., but the Kings hold the regulation wins, which puts the Knights into 4th place giving them a Wild Card Spot in the Western Conference, four points up on St. Louis. Tampa Bay plays well at home with a record of, 21-9-4 but on the road their a dismal 15-16-2. On the flip side of the coin, Las Vegas are, 21-10-2 at home and 15-14-5 on the road. The Lightning are 4-4-3 all time against the Knights. Other than Tampa's D-man, Haydn Fleury slotted as questionable for tonight's game, both teams appear to be healthy. This is a coin flip for me, hang on, heads won.
My Bet. Las Vegas on the ML.
